Dangerous road conditions can be created by the discharge of water, dirt and gravel from private property onto public roadways blocking culverts. Property owners are responsible for keeping these culverts clear of debris in order to reduce the risk of flooding.
To ensure safe travel on Bowen Island’s roadways this rainy season, the municipality asks all property owners to control runoff and to maintain their culverts. Failure to do so may result in fining under the Bowen Island Municipality Traffic and Use of Streets Bylaw, No. 133, 2005.
